Trondheim, Norway’s „city of knowledge ”seeks to diversify its cultural offerings by the establishment of a new cultural arena, the Kultimathule, and a stimulus of mixed-use apartment building on Strandveien street. Nyhavna and its adjacent communities are a complex set of variables that set the stage for an equally complex and organic response. Enter this year’s current Europan theme: Revitalisation through urban intensity, Nyhavna and its subcomponents are islands: divided, bound, limited, and constricted.
